A test of the Salem-Hope Creek Generating Stations Alert and Notification System will be conducted by the Delaware Emergency Management Agency and the Delaware State Police on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Vehicle Restrictions have been issued for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge due to high winds, as well as safety precautions are urged in the Delmarva Region as cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills are forecast to continue through tomorrow.

State, County Offices Close March 2, 2009

All Delaware state offices and county offices in all three counties and the City of Wilmington offices are closed for the day on Monday, March 2. State officials and those of the counties and several municipalities chose to close offices rather than have employees driving into work while snow was still falling.

WINTER STORM SAFETY TIPS - AS SNOW, SLEET SUBSIDE, CAUTIOUS DRIVING IMPORTANT

With the first significant snow fall of the new year lightly coating most of the state, Delaware residents
will be spared the worst of snow-covered roads and drifts across their driveways. However, the probability of sleet and freezing rain in the evening hours is plenty of reason to exercise caution, and when possible, limit driving.

PRECAUTIONS URGED DURING SEVERE COLD WEATHER

With severe cold weather predicted to grip the northeast for several days, the public is urged to
take all precautions when venturing outdoors. Many outdoor activities are scheduled for the weekend and
early next week while the temperatures are not expected to go above freezing and may remain in the
teens and low 20s.

TROPICAL STORM WARNING IN PLACE AS HANNA APPROACHES

The entire state of Delaware remains under a Tropical Storm Warning and Flood Watch as Hanna moves up the eastern seaboard. The state is expected to see the effects of the storm by 5 or 6 a.m. Saturday as rain bands lead increasing winds. The storm is predicted to be approximately a 12-hour event over the length of the state.

PREPAREDNESS IMPORTANT AS HANNA APPROACHES

As the 2008 hurricane season continues, Tropical Storm Hanna is the eighth named storm and the
first to impose a potential threat to Delaware. Emergency Management officials encourage the public to
use the time before the storm reaches the Delmarva to review their emergency plans and supplies.

SNOW AND ICE PREDICTED FOR FRIDAY COMMUTERS

A winter storm is predicted to bring snow and mixed wintry precipitation to Delaware starting in the early hours of Friday and continuing throughout the day. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory that is currently in effect from 1 a.m., Friday, until 1 a.m., Saturday, in New Castle County.

DELAWARE TO DISTRIBUTE POTASSIUM IODIDE TABLETS SEPT. 13 AT TOWNSEND FIRE COMPANY

The Delaware Emergency Management Agency and the Delaware Division of Public Health will conduct distribution of potassium iodide (KI) tablets, free of charge, on Thursday, Sept. 13, to Delaware residents in the area who live within 10 miles of the Salem/Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Stations.

EVACUATION ORDER TERMINATED FOLLOWING ASSESSMENT OF DOW REICHHOLD PLANT STATUS

"The evacuation order for the area within a 1,500-foot radius of the Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex Plant located at 144 Fork Branch Road in north Dover has been terminated. Those who evacuated the area may return to their homes. Businesses that closed as a result of a styrene leak at the plant may reopen immediately, and any area school classes or church services may be conducted as scheduled on Sunday, August 27."

"A Delaware Emergency Notification System safety message was recently issued to advise the public of the status of the chemical release incident at Dow Reichhold Specialty Plant located at 144 Fork Branch Road north of Dover. Based on current monitoring at Dow Reichhold, incident specialists, Kent County and the State of Delaware have determined that there are no conditions that would cause adverse health effects at this time."
